Admission rules

Players may compete in their club's team according to their age category or in an older category.

Circulation of a player between a club's different teams of the same age caterory A, B,...etc. is not permitted.

The list of names of the players broken down into categories shall be handed over upon arrival at the registration. Only players on the list are allowed to participate in the matches.

Each team needs to consist of at least 12 players 10 players in case of U10 categories. While there is no upper limit for the total number of participants in a team, only up to 16 players can be registered to each game, with the names clearly indicated on the match protocol sheet.

Identification, certifications, players' documents

All participants need:

  • valid passport or
  • ID card / student card EU citizens only

All teams need to be equipped with:

  • a complete list of names with addresses, min. 12 players plus 2 companions,
  • valid sport doctor's certifications,
  • two different colored sports dresses,
  • at least one ball,
  • to be presented to the referees before the matches.

Upon request, players must be able to provide proper identification and proof of age at any time before the match.

Each team must have their own trainer or acting coach. The organizers will not acknowledge and cannot take responsibility for any problems, claims or scheduling conflicts arising from insufficient number of trainers.

Rules of the games, procedures, referees

Matches are held in different venues at the same time, therefore each team must have their own trainer.

Rules of IHF and the Hungarian Handball Association are applied.

Depending on the number of entries in a group, the scheduling can vary between group, all against all or mixed-type systems, based on a principle that each team has the opportunity to play at least five matches.

All rankings will be decided during the tournament.

Matches are lead by invited international referees and by delegated referees of EHF and the Hungarian Handball Association.

Playing field

The playing field is a rectangular area, 28 meters long and 15 meters wide. The goal line is a semi-circular arc with a radius of 6 meters drawn from the center of the goal. The baseline and side lines are continuous lines 5 centimeters wide. The substitution line is a 15 cm long section 150 cm away from the center line in both directions. The goal is in the middle of the baseline, dimensions: 150-160 centimeters high and 240-250 centimeters wide.

Playing time and ball

Playing time: 2 x 15 minutes with a 5-minute break, no timeouts.

The ball is made of coated sponge, 15-16 centimeters in diameter and 140-170 grams in weight.

Players

5 field players and 1 goalkeeper may be on the playing field at any one time. A minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 players may be registered for a match. The goalkeeper cannot be included in the field as a sixth field player.

Start and throws

The game starts with a half-time kick-off, when the players of the defending team are required to take their places in front of their own penalty area. After a goal, the ball is also put into play with a half-time kick-off, when the rules applicable to the players of the defending team apply to the half-time kick-off. When taking throws throw-ins, free throws, penalty throws, the defending player must be at least 1 meter away from the player taking the throw. When taking a free throw, the players of the attacking team must be at least 1 meter away from the opponent's goal line. The penalty throw must be taken from the goal line 6 meters.

Penalties

Penalties: warning; 1-minute suspension; a third suspension results in exclusion. A player who has been sent off with an immediate red card for serious foul play or unsportsmanlike conduct may not play in the next match.

In all other cases, the current rules of handball shall apply.
